It was hard not to fall in love with this show. I have to admit I had very high expectations before the first episode aired. (Seeing gargantuan pink balloons looming over Sunset boulevard for the premiere at the Cinerama didn't help.)
Kirstie Alley is at her best in this show. And it's not because she has to be. This show is truly funny. She could pull the entire thing off by herself but instead, she has plenty of assistance from extra talent like John Travolta, Leah Remini, the woman formerly known as Blossom and others.
This show is a scream. Mostly because its a slice of life that pretty much everyone can relate too. Whether its battling food, family or neighbors, this show is a show about life as most of us have experienced it in some form or another.
This is the best new show I've seen in 2005 and owning the DVD makes it even sweeter!
