Buy First Daughter

Katie Holmes is Samantha, a very special girl because she grew up being watched by the whole country. Her father (Michael Keaton) is the president of the United States

The story revolves around Samantha and her desire to have a regular life. As she is leaving home (i.e. the White House) for college in California, it seems at first, that this is the time for a change. Once she arrives, she wishes that she could blend in with the rest of her fellow students but because she is the daughter of the President, she is a little more visible than others.

The movie is cute although a little slow in the beginning. Katie Holmes was fantastic in Pieces of April but in this movie I'm still trying to figure out if her character was supposed to have no personality. It's hard to tell.

Another thing hard to swallow is the exaggerated importance of her being the first daughter. She has Secret Service around her everywhere. I still don't know if the first daughter is that special besides, no one cares about that anyway (unless if you can make fun of her clothes or bad hair).  Not too mention this character is in college in Los Angeles.  (Isn't everyone a star there?)

First Daughter is an okay movie, but not fantastic.
