Twentieth Century Fox presents Taxi

This is the first attempt for Saturday Night Live alum, Jimmy Fallon, to become a major movie star. With him on this adventurous is the classy and always hilarious Queen Latifah.

Following the steps of Will Ferrell (probably the only SNL ex-cast member to have a recent hit on the silver screen), Fallon is a little annoying as a cop who is afraid of driving and has troubles in his department since he can't do anything right.

On the other hand, Queen Latifah shines and entertains the audience with her simplicity, including being butcher than Jimmy.

She is a taxi driver who gets her license on the same day Fallon's character picks her cab to follow bank robbers. (Remember, he doesn't drive.) Also in the cast is the almost mute Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian super model. She is the ringleader of the robbers Jimmy Fallon pursues.

The movie is okay, the bad part is that Jimmy Fallon is trying really hard to be funny, keeping his SNL sketch sense of humor as part of his acting. Taxi is fine, but not for everyone. As long you know is just a silly comedy and you don't want anything else, then you can spend the next 85 minutes watching it and laughing.
