Ultraviolet
Milla Jovovich
Forget about Resident
Evil, Milla Jovovich choose a
winner with this film. Filmed in a similar but less boring
style than Skycaptain and the World of Tomorrow,
Milla shows her strong acting.
Aside from the
killer abs on the front cover of this DVD, this film is more
about justice than sex and more about art than justice.
Milla's character,
Violet, is a vampire in a futuristic world who must protect a
boy, who is in fact a secret weapon: the cure for all the humans
transformed in vampires.
Human society has
been decimated by a holocaust caused by biological warfare
research gone wrong: instead of creating super-soldiers, a
genetically-engineered virus turns infected humans into
Hemophages, a vampire-like sub-species with enhanced physical
abilities. In the infection-paranoid and technologically
advanced society that follows, Violet is a singular Hemophage
warrior battling the totalitarian dictator who is determined to
wipe out her species at any cost.
Buy it and make
sure you get the unrated, director's cut. The extras are
fantastic.
